does a job; brief snooze is annoying
By shamrockin
I used an Indiglo transport alarm as my categorical alarm for over 10 years. Eventually, it stopped working. we have been on a query to reinstate it ever since--about 6 years now. The categorical thing I've schooled by perplexing so many other alarms is--it's tough to find a good, basic, no-frills, arguable alarm clock.
Some alarms remove time. Some snooze for 10 or 15 minutes, that defeats a awakening process. Some are shrill and/or repulsive while others are hardly audible. One couldn't keep time, AND after it fell off my nightstand--for a initial time--the numbers became unreadable. A LOT are not Indiglo, and a backlights are so splendid they could double as airstrip lighting; I've had to make them covers to lifeless a light so we could go to sleep.
I finally gave adult anticipating a suitable deputy during internal stores, and started alarm time selling online. After comparing features, reading reviews, and checking delicately for 1) battery powered operation 2) no consistent backlight and 3) unchanging out-of-date usually lights adult when we pull a symbol (Indiglo), we chose this Elgin transport alarm.
I've used it as my usually alarm for several weeks now. It works improved than a (many) others I've tried.
Pros
1) no cords (especially good, given it is sole as a transport alarm)
2) audible, apparently an alarm, yet a sound isn't TOO grating
3) lightweight
4) a mount covers a button, so if we were roving instead of regulating it as a unchanging alarm (like me) it wouldn't finish adult removal a batteries by being pulpy down a whole time
5) it appears to keep time reasonably (so far, anyway)
6) a numbers are vast adequate to examination yet my glasses
7) red locator light is handy
8) low price
Cons
1) it usually has a 4 notation "snooze" between alarms
2) compulsory batteries (2 AAA) do not come with it
3) a mount seems groundless and sticks out flattering distant in a back
4) a buttons don't slip smoothly, yet they aren't too bad
5) a Indiglo is somewhat too bright--it does take a second or dual to be means to see a numbers after attack a snooze button
6) did we discuss a 4 notation snooze?
I've forsaken it off my nightstand a integrate of times. I'm not a morning person, and a 4 mins pass quickly--I tend to strech out yet looking a initial integrate of times, and have misjudged a plcae and pushed it off a stand. So far, it stays total (the mount hasn't even damaged off or burst yet).
Overall, it's a best deputy I've found during my years of searching. The 4 notation snooze is REALLY irritating though; a aged Indiglo had a 8 (or 7, we don't remember for certain during this point, so many alarms later) notation snooze interlude and that was usually about perfect. While not a "perfect replacement," it is apparent they don't make what I'm looking for anymore. we will give adult a hunt and use this Elgin. It is adequate, and positively does a job. It's tough to nap when a alarm goes off each time we get gentle from snoozing it a final time. The alarm tinge is shrill adequate to arise you, yet not shrill adequate to make we adhere to a roof with surprise. The red light helps locate it when it's toll (although we have to wait a second for a blue light to go down after pulling snooze before we can demeanour during a time).
If it had twice a snooze length (8 minutes), we would give it 5 stars, given a other flaws are so minor. we competence even settle for a 6 notation snooze. Since it's usually 4 minutes, though, that and all a teenager flaws supplement adult to usually 4 stars.

Great Little Alarm Clock
By zorba
Nice, uncomplicated, organic transport alarm clock. First of all, a package was EASY to open -- doesn't need a hacksaw and axe, like many packages do these days. Secondly, a instructions were created in CLEAR ENGLISH -- not uncanny senseless general black and directions in 10 opposite languages with a English being butchered over comprehension. And thirdly, a time is elementary to set adult and operate. Very user-friendly. Does what it says it's going to do. Alarm starts off gently afterwards gets some-more raging as seconds parasite by and we haven't incited it off -- ideal for my waking-up habits. It's a right distance -- really compress -- has a good large display, large snooze symbol -- all in all, about as ideal as a product can be. My compliments to Elgin.
